Public Health (Recurring Nuisances) Act 1969 (-)

1:--

    (1) Where a local authority are satisfied that a statutory nuisance has occurred on any premises and is likely to recur on the same premises, they may serve a notice (in this Act referred to as a prohibition notice) -

      (a) ...

      (b) In any other case, on the person by whose act, default or sufferance the nuisance arose or, if that person cannot be found, on the owner or occupier of the premises

    prohibiting a reoccurrence of the nuisance and requiring him to take such steps as may be necessary to prevent a reoccurrence.

    (2) A local authority may if they think fit specify in a prohibition notice any works necessary to prevent a reoccurrence of the nuisance to which the notice relates and require the execution of those works.
