Instructions

I hope that instructions are in fact unnecessary. Even assuming so, here are some tips.

Controls

  • Difficulty level: This sets the number of pieces into which the picture is cut. Stay away from Phew! until you are ready.
  • Twister: This allows you either to have all the pieces turned the right way up, or (twisted) turned around. This can, for some people, be fun. The pieces are not strictly speaking twisted, but mirrored or inverted. Right clicks on the mouse show the piece in tum in each presentation. It is possible to move a piece onto the board, allow it to click into place, and only then re-orient it to fit.
  • Drop Off: When a piece is dropped near its correct position, it will slip into place. 'From Heaven' suggests that the piece will find its home if dropped 'from heaven' - almost from anywhere. 'Just Help' is a more sensible, moderate level, and 'Out'a My Way' means to leave only a remnant of the feature.

Basics:

  • Edges first. Of course some people leave the edges to last - go on we dare you.
  • The ghost picture is very much more pale than the picture itself. Sometimes this seems misleading.
"There's no point trying to smell it - it's on-line. There's no point trying to smell it . . . yet."
