We are quite proud of these pages. From time to time, others agree with us, and have given us a certain recognition.

  • October 2000 The legalhitlist.com site here) list us at number 18 in the UK for busy law related sites in August 2000. This despite our tiny size, and complete absence of advertising and promotion.

It has to be said also that for many of the other members of the list, they are of such a size, that their popularity can be explained simply by asking how many visitors they would get each month through nothing more than their own staff logging on using it as their home page. For the sake of clarity (and despite all requests) my staff members seem quite incapable of making our home page theirs. Ho hum.

I do not place too much reliance upon the list. You can never be sure who does not want to take part, but we are there.

  • September 2000 Lycos now give us a 'Highly Recommended' tag. I am not sure how they come to add these commendations, but it seems fair enough. We also seem to come first in the Lycos rankings if you look for 'case law' - out of some 88,000 sites. Can't be too bad.
  • 1998 We did once (1998?) win an award - a 'Brown something or other'. I wasn't quite sure how they had come to choose us, and though I was as always flattered, I couldn't be bothered to call in at the site to do th necessary to 'collect' our winings - a litle button which really acts to advertise them. It seems to me that by the time somebody has found our pages, they are either going to be impressed by what they find, or not impressed and wander off. Providing a button to wander off seems a strange choice. We do provide plenty of links out of our pages, but it seems a bit like the principle once evinced by a certain Groucho Marx. 'I wouldn't want to be part of any club which would want me as a member.'
