IPCC Investigation teams

Postby Case2012 » Fri Feb 08, 2013 9:19 pm

Is anyone familiar with the IPCC investigation teams and how good they are? They are headed up by two former Superintendents from two police forces sois it likely that there will be bias?

Agree with Bar-tat. I lost an IPCC appeal for unlawful arrest/false imprisonment yet succeeded with a private civil claim against the police for damages (in that I got paid off before the matter reached court.

Forget the IPCC. They are a total shower. If you have a claim against the police, sue them.

Just a little harsh on the IPCC. They are severely under-resourced.
It is better put that you do not rely on an IPCC investigation as a gathering exercise of evidence to begin a civil claim.

With hindsight, I can't see the point of running a complaint against the police for having f.cked around with your life, unless there's some money in it. Suing them focuses the mind on whether your complaint is useless or not. If it's half-baked, better not waste anybody's time. The IPCC's ostensible user-friendly face and glossy brochure sucks the daydreamer, vainglorious or purely hopeful in, only to spit him out. The only reason to justify an appeal is to suck a little bit more information from the police than they might otherwise divulge, but that only if you have the courage of your convictions to take it on to court. Beyond that, I agree with Bat-tat's opinion, that they are a waste of time.

Time and again, the police show themselves to be utter ars.holes the way they go about things and cause great harm to people. So what do you expect back from them when you attack their nonsense? An apology? What good does an apology do, particularly when you know they don't mean it? To further your delusion they have some kind of respect for you? Had they that, you wouldn't have been arrested in the first place.

The only answer these days is compensation in the form of money and the more of it the better. Sue the police if they've p.ssed you about, otherwise pass on and do something else. And as a general rule keep a low profile and don't have anything to do with the police at all if you can possibly help it.
